The slurry pump is specially designed to transport the slurry of special pumps. Most of the slurry pumps are centrifugal pumps, centrifugal slurry pumps work on the same principle as ordinary centrifugal pumps. A mixture of solid particles and liquid is called a solid-liquid two-phase fluid in fluid mechanics, so slurry pumps are often called two-phase flow pumps.
Slurry pumps can be widely used in mining, electric power, metallurgy, coal, environmental protection, and other industries to transport the slurry containing abrasive solid particles. Such as metallurgical mineral processing, slurry pump mine slurry delivery, thermal power plant hydraulic ash removal, coal washing plant slurry, and heavy media delivery, dredging, river desilting, etc. The chemical industry can also transport some corrosive slurries containing crystals.
About 80% are used in the mining industry in mineral processing plants. Due to the harshness of the ore primary process, the service life of slurry pumps is generally lower in this section of the industry. Of course, different ores, corrosiveness is not the same. Such as in concentrate conveying and other sections of relative abrasiveness decreases, the overall service life of the pump is also longer. Therefore, when users often ask suppliers about the service life of their products during the purchasing process, strictly speaking, no manufacturer will promise users an accurate service life for no reason, because the service life of overcurrent parts (wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant parts) depends on many different factors, and the diversity and complexity of the working conditions cause the service life of the same quality of materials is different. However, in the pre-selection phase, it is possible to have a competent manufacturer to make a reasonable design for the selection of the conditions.
At present, China's power plants are mainly thermal power generation and hydroelectric power generation, in thermal power plants, due to a large number of coal-fired power generation, coal-fired slag or ash needs to be removed, slurry pumps are used in addition to the role of ash, slag by mixing a certain amount of water, through the slurry pump to transport it to the ash pile, so sometimes slurry pumps in power plants are also known as ash pumps.
Due to different working conditions, larger coal lumps, gangue is easy to clog, for the slurry pump design requirements are high. In the field of seawater sand dressing, the slurry pump application is also beginning to be gradually recognized by customers. But in seawater sand selection, river dredging sand, the slurry pump is more easily called the sand pump, dredging pump. Although the name is not the same, from the structural characteristics and pump performance principle, can be commonly known as a slurry pump, so in seawater sand selection we often called the sand pump, in river dredging inside used to call dredging pump.
The slurry pump is widely used, but the correct application is very important. The slurry pump due to the limitations of the name itself makes some non-industry people misunderstand this. In fact, the slurry pump, impurity pump, dredging pump, dredging pump, etc. are in the scope of application of the slurry pump. In the slurry pump application process, it is important to pay attention to the rational design, the correct calculation, the appropriate selection, these points are very important.
Axial flow pumps are centrifugal pumps that allow the pump to move axially through the impeller. They offer high flow rates and low heads, but some models can be adapted to operate efficiently under different conditions by changing the impeller pitch.
