Axial Flow Pump
Chemical Axial Flow Pump
Axial flow pumps, also referred to as propeller pumps or elbow pumps, are designed for big-flow and low-head applications involving high temperature and highly corrosive liquids. Our axial flow pumps' discharge diameters ranging from 200 mm to 1800 mm (8 to 72 inches). They are widely used in MVR water treatment, salt production, alumina processing, mirabilite production, alkali industry, sugar manufacturing, seawater desalination, and other sectors—serving either as transfer pumps or forced circulation evaporation pumps. A broad selection of high-quality materials are available to handle various mediums, including stainless steel (SS304, SS316, SS316L, 904L), duplex stainless steel (CD4MCu, 2205, 2507), Alloy 20, Hastelloy, Titanium, Monel, and Nickel.

Performance
The flow rate and head values of axial flow pumps can be tailored produced according to the particular needs from customers.
■ Capacity: Q=250~20,000(m³/h)
■ Head: H=8~1.5 (m)
■ Speed range: n=180~1450 rpm
■ Fluid density: ≤1.5
■ Fluid temperature: 0~180℃
■ Fluid viscosity: ≤600(mm2/s)
■ Pump diameter: Ф200mm~1800mm
The ideal choice for high-flow, low-head applications, axial flow pumps are engineered to efficiently transfer big volumes of fluid with relatively low heads. This specific design principle makes them exceptionally effective at handling massive flow rates with low power consumption and operating costs.
■ Angle adjustable propeller blades for further adjustment of pump performance
■ Slow speed design,no damage to crystal of brine, low NPSHr value.
■ Also known as an elbow pump, its main body utilizes an elbow structure and is built via modular welded assembly or integral forging, resulting in superior hydraulic performance.
■ Suspension mounting, requiring no baseplate or expansion joints.
■ Pre-assembled bearing for easy assembly and maintenance.
■ Smooth operation with minimal vibration, high efficiency and energy-saving.
The chemical axial flow pumps are mainly used as the chemical circulation pumps in chemical plants and seawater desalination plants, the structure of those chemical pumps are designed as robust and compact for consideration of continuous and smooth operation.

![]() | K-pipe hung arrangement No baseplate for both pump and motor,no expansion joint on pipe. The Axial Flow Pump is driven by motor through V-belts.This arrangement is only applicable for the pump diameter from 300-500mm and motor capacity below 55Kw. |
![]() | E-half pipe hung arrangement No baseplate for axial flow pump, pump is hung on the pipe,no expansion joint on pipe. For big axial pumps above 700mm diameter, there must be a fluctuating frame at the horizontal pipe connecting the pump.Only V-belts and universal joint are recommended as the transmission method for this arrangement. |
![]() | F-horizontal arrangement Baseplate is required for both axial water pump and electric motor. An expansion joint on the pipe is also required for high temperature applications.Transmission methods can be V-belts and direct coupled. |
For easy maintenance purpose, the above mentioned arrangements require a casing between horizontal pipe and the chemical aixal flow pump. | |
The chemical axial flow pumps are typically designed for transferring the harsh chemical solutions like hot brine, high temperature alkali, acids. So, the material of construction of those pumps are mainly made from duplex stainless steels, Titanium, Monel, Nickel, Hastelloy... We may customize the material of axial pumps according to the requirements from our clients.

Irrigation & Drainage:
The characteristics of big flow rate and low discharge pressure of axial propeller pumps makes them suitable for move large amount of water for farm irrigation purposes or water drainage purposes.
Flood Control:
With the capability of evacuating big amount of water quite limited time, the axial flow pumps are ideal for flood water control purposes.
Cooling Water Circulation:
The cooling water circulation systems require the pumps to circulate the water in large amount, the big elbow pumps are quite suitable as the circulation pumps of cooling water tower or heat exchangers in chemical plants, oil refineries and power generation plants.
Forced Circulation:
Due to the features of sufficient flow rate, the chemical axial elbow pumps are the ideal pumping devices for forced circulation applications in salt plants, MVR and ZLD systems.
Wastewater Treatment:
The axial flow propeller pumps are the good choice for the circulation pump of waste water treatment plants, due to their capability of corrosion resistant and large flow rate.
Aquaculture:
The axial flow elbow pumps are always serving as the cirulation pump for ship and shrimp farms near the sea, as they can exchange the seawater in the farms in a short period of time.
